Xavier Hernández Creus (Xavi) born January 25, 1980 is a Spanish football manager and former player who is now the manager of La Liga team Barcelona. Xavi was widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of all time for his passing, vision, ball retention, and positioning. Xavi joined La Masia, Barcelona's junior system, at the age of 11 and made his first-team debut in August 1998 against Mallorca. He scored 85 goals in 767 official matches, a club record that Lionel Messi now holds. Xavi is the club's first player to appear in 150 European and FIFA Club World Cup matches. Xavi has eight La Liga wins and four UEFA Champions League titles to his credit with Barcelona.
